Undead Dungeons

This game marks my first significant venture into game development. Initially conceived as a high school project to demonstrate my skills in Level Design, it evolved into a year-long passion project. Although I never intended to publish it, I continued working on it for my own enjoyment and to enhance my coding knowledge.


Undead Dungeons is essentially a 2D platformer inspired by Dark Souls. While the base story closely mirrors that of Dark Souls, I’ve made several adjustments and added my own unique narratives. The game also features similar elements, such as the boss fights and using bonfires as checkpoints.


Undead Dungeons features over five distinct levels with immersive environments, compelling level design, and engaging boss fights. The game is very challenging and is aimed at players who enjoy a tough, skill-based experience.

Features

Three challenging Boss Fights

Undead Golem - A golem that guards the dungeon who will jump around and shoot fire at the player.


Bringer of Death - A more PVP-based fight. He will chase after the player and start attacking when close enough, while a Reaper flIes in the arena and shoots fire at the player.


Demon King - A Demon that lurks in the castle. This is a platform-based fight so you will have to move around all the time while the platforms change position, or otherwise you will be doomed.

Unique Platformer Controls

Double Jump - Press Space while in the air to perform another jump


Roll - Press Control to perform a roll. This is a good way of avoiding an enemy's attack.


Change Gravity - Press Z to change the gravity of the player. This will be useful to get through some areas, and to overcome some boss fights.

Five different levels with immersive envirounments

The Graveyard - The tutorial level that sets the mood for the rest of the game. Very dark and eerie, and crawls with skeletons.


The Castle/Dungeons - The first real level of the game. Navigate your way through the unforgiving castle with obstacles like spikes, skeleton and flying monsters, to then finish off with a fight against The Undead Golem.


The Grasslands - A peaceful level where you interact with villagers and progress in the story.


The Cave - An extremely challenging level where you get chased by a Reaper through the caves. You will face a bunch of goblins and spikes on the way, and you have to make it through quick enough so the Reaper doesn't slay you. The level finishes with a fight against Bringer of Death.


The City - Another difficult level where you navigate through a dark city filled with hounds, demons and monsters. A Demon far away shoots fire at the player through the entire level, so you have to reach that point and finish him off. In this level you unlock the Gravity Switch, and will later have to face the Demon King.
